Iveda Enables Cloud-Video Surveillance for Leading Philippine Telecommunications Company
MESA, Ariz. (August 7, 2014) – Iveda® (OTCQB:IVDA), provider of cloud video surveillance solutions and Sentir™ platform, today announced that it has shipped cloud-based plug-and-play IP cameras to the Philippines in collaboration with Filcomserve, Inc. and Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT). Through the licensing of Sentir, Iveda’s cloud video surveillance platform, PLDT will launch the first-of-its kind cloud video monitoring product and service offering in the Philippines. The new bundled service will target small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs).
The solution comprises of Iveda’s wide range of Zee™ series plug-and-play IP cameras and the Sentir video hosting platform, bundled with PLDT’s dedicated data connection and cloud video storage. The offering eliminates on-premise video storage and the cumbersome set-up and maintenance associated with typical closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems. This capability enables real-time viewing, push notifications, alerts and recorded playback.
PLDT is marketing this offering as a solution to help businesses thwart increasing problems of employee theft and pilferage using cloud video monitoring.
PLDT is the Philippines’ leading provider of domestic, international long distance, cellular services and information and communications technology with over 70 million subscribers (more subscribers than Sprint and T-Mobile in the U.S.).
PLDT is listed on the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE:TEL) and its American Depositary Shares are listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE:PHI). PLDT has one of the largest market capitalizations among Philippine-listed companies.
Filcomserve is an information and communications technology company, providing turn-key solutions to telecommunications and IT companies. It will serve as Iveda’s reseller in the region and manage the day-to-day business relationship with PLDT.
“We are working diligently with telcos in multiple countries for camera shipments and Sentir platform deployment this year,” said David Ly, chairman and CEO of Iveda. “This is just an example of how Iveda continues to execute on our strategy to partner with the likes of PLDT to enter new markets without having to make costly investments in a salesforce or infrastructure.”
Iveda’s perfect customers for the Sentir cloud video platform are those already catering to millions of subscribers. The telcos have a low barrier to entry because Sentir is installed within their data centers at no cost. Iveda collects monthly revenue as the telco bills their customers for services.
In addition to worldwide telcos, Sentir is perfect fit for Internet Service Providers, data centers and cable service providers that want to leverage their customer base for an additional offering of products and monthly services.
“Having worked with telcos and being familiar with the market demand and expectations in the region, Filcomserve is the ideal partner for us to bring our unique cloud video surveillance solution into the country,” said Ly.
In a recent pre-launch teaser marketing campaign, under the brand “PLDT SME Nation’s Cloud Video Monitoring,” PLDT featured an additional valuable tool to the modern Filipino businessman’s arsenal – an innovative modern approach for video surveillance to enhance security and more efficiently run their business.
“We are fortunate to partner with Iveda to provide one of our most important customers, an innovative cloud video monitoring solution for their millions of subscribers,” said Lino Barte, CEO of Filcomserve. “Iveda’s Sentir platform leverages PLDT’s scale and subscriber base and are quickly working to drive adoption.”
